Purchasing a home can be difficult, especially when you don't know where to start, or what you like or don't like. In order to get over this, I recommend that buyers take a look around their neighborhood and start to list features of homes they like and don't like, from here, they may then decide what it is they like about a community, is it the ammenities? is it the scenery? or is it something that isn't important to them? These questions all help real estate agents such as myself, help buyers find the right home. Once buyers have a general idea of what they want and where they want to buy, buyers and their agent may then start to look for homes and also get into contact with a loan officer that will help prequalify the buyers. When speaking to a loan officer, documentation of income is usually required, it is better to have this documentation organized in case the loan officer needs more information. Once buyers are prequalified and they have found a home the buyer is interested in, their agent may submit an offer on their behalf and if the offer is accepted, the buyer's agent will guide them through closing and assist them with any questions the buyer may have and direct the buyer to the appropriate resource for the question. Once the offer is closed, the buyer now owns a new home, and the process is complete.
